Legislative Update - February 18, 2010
Legislative Update
As the 2010 legislative session continues to move forward it is critical that you stay informed and become involved. Now is a great time for seniors, senior advocates, families and care givers to get involved. Critical services to Kansas seniors were cut this last year and unless things change they are facing the potential of drastic cuts again this budget year. If you are concerned about cuts to services to our aging population, let your legislators hear from you, tell them your story.
You can reach your legislator by calling the Kansas Legislative Hotline at (800) 432-3924 If you know of other senior advocates who would be interested in signing up for the K4A Legislative Update, send them to our website: www.k4a.org Both the House and Senate committees that determine the budget for aging services will hold public hearings on March 3rd and 4th. It is important that seniors, family, caregivers and advocates for seniors fill the room for these hearings and be willing to testify and provide their story.
