Disabled Veterans

Disabled veterans need and deserve the best support we can provide. These organizations focus on disabled veterans benefits, military family support, financial, housing, and education support, and outreach programs such as sports and entertainment gatherings that specifically benefit disabled American veterans.

AbilityPLUS
AbilityPLUS is a nonprofit organization located in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. We are dedicated to helping disabled people of all abilities realize their dreams of inclusion through adaptive skiing and other recreation opportunities.

Blinded Veterans Association
The BVA is an organization set up to promote the welfare of blinded veterans of America. Through donations, volunteers, and membership, the BVA travels around the country to assist blind veterans. Generally, the help comes through connecting veterans with organizations and services.

Challenge Aspen
Challenge Aspen is dedicated to impacting lives by presenting meaningful recreational, cultural and competitive experiences to individuals faced with cognitive or physical challenges.

Disabled American Veterans
The Disabled American Veterans is dedicated to one, single purpose - building better lives for all of our nation's disabled veterans and their families.

National Military Family Association
This site is dedicated to helping family members of the military find resources. Information on benefits, education, deployment, government info, etc. Checklists for family, employment and educational assistance for spouses. Military family book review section for wives and children.

National Veterans Legal Services Program
NVLSP is a nonprofit veterans service organization. Its mission is to assist veterans in receiving the benefits they deserve.

National Veterans Wheelchair Games
A multi-event sports and rehabilitation program for military service veterans who use wheelchairs for sports competition due to spinal cord injuries, amputations or certain neurological problems.

National Vietnam Veterans Foundation, Inc.
The Vietnam Veterans Foundation, Inc. works to raise public pride in the achievements of Vietnam Veterans, provide educational seminars and training programs for veterans and their families, provide scholarships for dependent children of veterans, provide outreach and assist in homeless programs for veterans.

Paralyzed Veterans Association
Paralyzed Veterans of America works to maximize the quality of life for its members and all people with SCI/D as a leading advocate for health care, SCI/D research and education, veterans' benefits and rights, accessibility and the removal of architectural barriers, sports programs, and disability rights. We are the only Congressionally chartered veterans organization dedicated solely to serving the needs of SCI/SCD veterans.

Soldiers Undertaking Disabled Scuba
Soldiers Undertaking Disabled Scuba (SUDS) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) and Bethesda Naval Hospital is designed to help improve the lives of injured soldiers returning from Iraq & Afghanistan. By training the soldiers in a challenging & rewarding activity it can help facilitate the rehabilitation process & promote mobility.

Team River Runner
TRR gives military veterans and their family members an opportunity to find health, healing, and new challenges through whitewater boating and other paddling sports. The benefits of TRR have as much to do with social support, finding emotional strength and re-creating personal identity as they do with athletic activity.

World Team Sports
The World Team Sports mission is to reach out to, and actively include service members who have been severley injured in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Wounded Warriors
The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors.
